WHO WE ARE

I grew up in the wheatbelt town of Narrogin and still think of myself as a country boy.  Towns like Narrogin are built on a strong community spirit and I believe this has been instrumental in shaping my desire to help others.

When I first moved to Perth I was working for the Commonwealth Bank and spent 13 years in all facets of banking with the most rewarding being in the role of a business banking relationship manager.

I studied for my accounting degree part time while at CBA and after six long years and one threat to quit (which was quickly shut down by my wife!) graduated in 1994. I became a CPA in 1999 and soon after left the bank to join my first accounting firm.

It must have been a pretty good place as I ended up buying in and becoming a partner of the firm in 2005. After eight years as a business owner, and a trek around the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal, I decided in early 2013 that it was time to try a different challenge and to the surprise of many sold out of the accounting business to take up a role as the general manager for one of Perth’s leading financial advisers.

While I enjoyed the chance to see inside a different profession there was something missing so I took the decision to create Halifax Advisory and do what I love most – helping more people with their business.

Outside of work I love nothing more than riding my Ducati, cheering on the Perth Wildcats, travelling the world with my wife Jeanette learning new things and indulging in great wine and food.

If you’re ever out and about in Mount Lawley there’s a good chance you’ll find me in one the many small bars and one day you might even find me on the other side of those bars serving a drink or two!
